I know I’m not the only one who’s lived this way: disappearing into a version of myself that felt safer to the world, but left me without my own right to exist – as me. ~ Stina
I grew up in a tiny, 1,400-person farming town in the interior of BC, Canada. My family built the Baptist church down the road, and I was raised in an extremely conservative environment.
As a kid, I lived out loud — I “had too much life force” according to my mom. I was disobedient, fighting at school, stealing small items, ruining my clothes with grass stains, sap, and other small badges of adventure. But as I got older, expectations based on my gender and my family’s belief system pressed in. Who I was as a confident kid was about to be tamed.
I began to understand my sexual body and attraction to other girls. But I knew that part of me was totally forbidden and must be “crucified”. At some point, “my” world felt like it had no room for me to exist within it. I began to disappear into who I believed I had to be, hiding who I really was. My natural instincts gave way to an internal oppressor that took me over a decade to exorcise.
Devout Coming Out Sessions are my way of creating a safe place to experiment with being seen as you truly are.

Agenda FOR DEVOUT COMING OUT SESSIONS
60 minutes: Authentic leadership practices—in good company.
In this one-hour live session, you’ll experience:
- Warm Welcome & Grounding: Check in to arrive fully and set our shared agreements.
- Private Reflection & Writing: Guided reflection and writing to help reveal where you’re still hiding.
- Optional Sharing: Share an insight, story, or truth you’re ready to name in a safe space.
- Mini Presence Practice: Try on your “true self” through a short creative or voice-based exercise.
- Closing & Next Step: Leave with a small action for living more visibly
- An invitation to go deeper in Devout Coming Out — Leader Journey.
Through these sessions, I’m creating space to come out in the deepest sense:
- Being visible to ourselves.
- Being honest about who we are and what we believe.
- Saying the things that scare us, because they are real and they matter.
- Showing up in our daily lives, roles, and responsibilities in ways that align with who we really are.
My upbringing shaped me, it made me a hyper-vigilant student of the nature of reality and my place in it. Over the years, I’ve learned a lot about what it means to come out, of quietly and then bravely reclaiming myself. Through that process I understood how much of my life had been lived playing a game I could quit. I learned I can create a new belief system, a new life even, if the old one no longer serves us. Ultimately, we create reality with our choices.
It’s not only about sexuality (though all of you is welcome here). It’s about telling the truth (to yourself and sometimes to others), even when it scares you. It’s about meeting your SELF, your leadership, your work, and your daily life with a deep knowing and full embrace of who you truly are. And doing it in the company of others who are practicing the same courage.
During each session, you will reflect, write, share, and witness others as they do the same.
You’ll leave with one small action to carry into your life. And the option to continue in Devout Coming Out: Leader Journey community of practice for deeper, ongoing work. (More on that will be announced in the first live session)

Devout Coming Out Sessions create a new, public, monthly space to practice together
- Leave with small, tangible ways to live more visibly in your leadership and life.
- Explore your truth in a supportive, no-pressure environment.
- Experiment with sharing what matters most to you.
- Witness others taking courageous steps toward their own authenticity.
It’s not about religion – though you’re welcome to bring your spiritual questions and truths. It’s not about sexuality, though your whole identity is welcome here.
It’s about living your devotion as a human being.
I’m launching this because the world needs more places for realness right now. I know how to create spaces of love and care. I’ll bring everything I have to hold that for you.

2025 online session participant comments
“Stina, you create a generative container, a relatable and warm facilitation style, inspiring slides, and powerful prompts, plus including the group sessions is vital.“
“Stina is a rare blend of strategic clarity, emotional intelligence, and grounded presence. She brings real talk, rigor, and precision—always knowing what’s needed and when. Her deep study of self, power, privilege, and colonial dynamics isn’t theoretical. It shows up in how she moves, listens, and leads in every room she enters. Every detail of her work is intentional. Together, they create the dynamics and conditions for real transformation. Please use it!!”
“Stina’s facilitation is a kind of technology, ancient, intuitive, and deeply effective. She asks the right questions at the right pace, with just enough time to reflect and write. Everyone journals together, then circles back to share what stood out. It’s simple, but powerful. It helps me get out of my head, start seeing patterns, and connect dots I didn’t know were there. This approach works because it’s thoughtful and layered. It invites insight without forcing it.”
